Rules & Regulations - Mapungubwe

  • You must collect your Wildrun® goodybag, process through immigration and sign any outstanding indemnity forms at registration.
  • Registration will be the day before the race, between 13h00 and 15h00 only.
  • Between 14h00 and 16h00 there will be transfers available from the Mapungubwe National Park Intepretation Center to the Limpopo river bank, where you will be assisted across the river. On arrival at the Maramani Community Campsite you will process through Zimbabwe Immigration.
Event Day
  • This event IS NOT A RACE, but a trail running safari experience in a truly wild and magnificent area teeming with wildlife.
  • You will choose your running pace group when you enter ('fast - Tsessebes', 'medium - Kudus' or 'slow - impalas') and will run with this group on each day of the event, with a lead field guide and an assistant guide per every 10 runners. You will not be allowed to run on your own - you will be allowed to change groups on the day.
  • Runners must carry water and nutrition for the duration of each day’s run. There will be at least three water tables/checkpoint/aid-stations en-route per day.
  • There will be two dedicated event medics on standby in the event of an emergency.
  • If you withdraw from the Wildrun® without requiring medical attention, we will assist, where possible, in transporting you back to camp/the finish venue only. You will need to stay in camp until the event has finished and transport back to your vehicle at the Mapungubwe Intepretation Center when transport & immigration services can been arranged.
  • No seconding allowed.
Friends & Family
  • The Wildrun® entry field is small due to the nature of the area in which we run, and because we like to keep the event exclusive. Friends and family are welcome to follow the Wildrun®, however they will not be able to camp with the runners and will need to book accommodation/camping within the reserve(s) separately - both the Mapungubwe National Park on the South African side, and the Tuli Game Reseve on the Botswana side have accommodation options. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the event and it's remotness, seeing the runners each day will not possible.
  • Any travel and accommodation arrangements will need to be paid up-front, where our assistance is needed.
  • Runner accommodation will be in the tented camp only, along with the event crew. If you make other arrangements, that will be for your own account and no refund will be given. Note that the immigration requirements would necessitate that you stayed in Zimbabwe.
